Welcome to Art Den! We’re committed to maintaining a safe, supportive, and creative environment for artists, buyers, and enthusiasts. Please take a moment to review these guidelines, which apply to everyone in our community.
If you have any questions about these guidelines, please don't hesitate to reach out to a moderator.
As always, just remember: Be kind!
• No Spam: Automated messages, unsolicited advertisements, and links to competitor websites are not allowed. Posts must be relevant and art-focused to ensure a positive experience for all.
• Post in Relevant Sub-Forums Only: Help us keep the forum organized. Moderators may move posts placed in the wrong sub-forums to ensure topics are easy to find and follow.
• Respect Other Users: Treat fellow members with kindness and respect. No flaming, bullying, or abusive comments will be tolerated. Users who engage in disrespectful behavior will be warned, and repeat offenders may be removed from the forum.
• No Harassment: Harassment, threats, or any form of abusive behavior are strictly prohibited. Any instance of such behavior will result in immediate removal from the forum.
• No Art Theft: You may only post or sell artwork that is 100% created by you. Modifying, copying, or reposting others’ work without permission is considered art theft and may result in a permanent ban and possible legal action. Always credit the original artist if you are sharing their work with permission.
• No AI-Generated Art: AI-generated art is not allowed on Art Den. We celebrate human creativity, and all artwork shared or sold must be created by you without the use of AI tools.
• No Adult Content: No explicit adult content, pornography, or excessive profanity is allowed. Mature art is permitted in designated areas with appropriate warnings and must follow age-appropriate guidelines.
• Bandwidth and Image Sizes: To maintain smooth site performance, all images and signatures must be 500 x 500 pixels or smaller when posting in the forums. Larger images may be resized or removed by moderators. Artists: Please be sure to send larger artwork via email or WeTransfer.
• Illegal Content: Posting illegal content, including pirated materials or copyrighted works without permission, is strictly prohibited. Such posts will be removed, and the user may face further action.
• Sell Only Your Own Work: All artwork sold in the forum must be your original creation. Selling modified or stolen work is prohibited and may result in permanent account suspension.
• No AI-Generated Art: AI-generated art is not allowed on Art Den. We celebrate human creativity, and all artwork shared or sold must be created by you without the use of AI tools.
• Proof of Ownership: If your artwork is flagged as suspicious, moderators may ask for proof of authenticity, such as WIPs (Work In Progress), livestreams, or videos. Failure to provide proof may lead to your privileges being revoked.
• No Selling on Behalf of Others: You cannot open a shop or sell artwork for someone else, even with permission. Each artist must sell their own work directly to buyers.
• Permission to Alter Artwork: If you’ve commissioned line art or other assets, always seek the original artist’s permission before making any modifications. Respecting artists’ terms is essential to maintaining trust within the community.
• GA-Rated Images Only (Unless in the Mature section): All images must be suitable for general audiences unless clearly labeled as mature and posted in appropriate sections. Explicit content, including extreme violence, pornography, or themes of abuse, is strictly prohibited.
• Support Original Work: When purchasing art, ensure that the artist is the original creator of the work. Buying stolen or modified art is prohibited and may result in account action.
• Do Not Publicly Accuse of Art Theft: If you suspect art theft or have issues with an artist, contact a moderator privately with evidence. We’ll investigate and handle the matter appropriately.
• Buying at Your Own Risk: While we strive to maintain a safe space, Art Den is not liable for transactions. If you believe you’ve been scammed (i.e., not receiving artwork after payment), provide evidence to a moderator for assistance.
• Allowed Payment Methods: Buyers can pay artists via any other platform the artist specifies. Be sure to confirm payment details with the artist before completing a transaction. Although we cannot vouch for specific payment gateways, we always recommend using a gateway such as Paypal or Stripe so there is protection for both the buyer and seller.
• Respect the Artist’s Terms: If an artist specifies their terms (e.g., payment in advance, no refunds, delivery timelines), make sure to read and agree to them before placing an order. Misunderstandings can be avoided by clear communication.
• No Bumping or Spamming Threads: Respect all users and refrain from over-posting or "bumping" threads too frequently. Threads may be bumped once every 10 hours to give everyone an equal opportunity to be seen on the front page.
• Mature Art Content Restrictions: Ensure you follow the forum’s mature content guidelines when purchasing or requesting mature artwork. Any artwork outside the allowed boundaries will be removed, and the artist or buyer may face action.
To keep Art Den a safe and welcoming community, we follow a simple warning process. Here’s how it works:
First Warning – A gentle reminder from a moderator about the forum rules. No penalties, just a heads-up to correct the behavior.
Second Warning – A formal warning issued by the moderator. You’ll receive a written notice, and this will be logged.
Temporary Suspension – If the behavior continues, you’ll be temporarily suspended from the forum. The duration will depend on the severity of the violation.
Permanent Ban – Continued rule-breaking or serious violations may result in a permanent ban from Art Den.
We aim to foster understanding and cooperation, so we encourage all members to ask if they have questions about the rules. Our goal is to help everyone grow and connect positively!
Our policy on what can be posted on the forum in general (SFW - Safe For Work) as well as what must stay behind the age gated Mature Art section (NSFW - Not Safe For Work) can be simplified below.
SFW (Safe for Work) Content: SFW content includes artwork that is appropriate for all audiences, with no explicit nudity, sexual themes, or excessive violence. This content should be suitable for public viewing without the need for censorship or content warnings.
NSFW (Not Safe for Work) Content: NSFW content refers to artwork that contains nudity, sexual themes, or mature subjects. This includes anything deemed inappropriate for public settings. All NSFW artwork must be placed behind our 18+ age gate, and explicit content should be properly labeled with content warnings.
Below, we have an outline in a spoiler of what areas must be covered if posted in the general forum. If there are any parts inside the red that are posted in a SFW area of the forum, the user will receive a gentle reminder about our policies.
Thank you @lucifer for the 3D models!
Nipples
First and foremost, Art Den fully supports the #FreeTheNip movement and recognizes the important conversation around how society views the female body, particularly the censorship of nipples. The ongoing cultural issue stems from the unfortunate reality that the female body has often been objectified, whereas the male body hasn’t faced the same restrictions. While male nipples are freely shown in public and online, female nipples continue to be labeled as "too intimate" or inherently sexual.
Despite our personal support for this cause, we must abide by societal NSFW expectations, which require that nipples on female-presenting bodies be censored. We understand this is frustrating, but these policies are outside our control for now. We believe it’s important to continue challenging these outdated norms and advocating for equality in how bodies are viewed.
Until then, let’s keep the conversation going. Check out movements like #freethenipple for more information on how others are questioning these standards, and know that Art Den stands behind you.
